Srinagar, Jan 13: In its relentless efforts to contain the drug menace, Srinagar Police has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Police team of PS Chanapora at a checkpoint established at Chanpora intercepted a vehicle (Tempo Traveller) bearing registration number JK02AF-1776, with two persons on board. They have been identified as Umer Manzoor Rather resident of Natipora @ Manadev and Yawer Ahmad  Bhat resident of Baghat Kanipora. During search, substantial quanity of contraband substance was recovered from their possession.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 03/2025 under NDPS Act has been registered at PS Chanapora and investigation initiated.

J&K Police yet again appeals to the general public to assist them in the fight against drug trafficking by sharing any relevant information. Together, we can work towards creating a safer, drug-free society. (QNS)
