A 16-year-old Kashmiri girl currently residing in Jammu, has been missing since Friday from her home in Baag-i-Bahu area of Jammu division, the family alleges.
According to her family, on Friday morning she was washing clothes at her home while other family members were on the terrace of the building.
“Once we stepped inside the house, she was not there. After searching her whereabouts from neighbors, there was no clue of her,” Mr. Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, her uncle told Reporters.
After she went missing, the family members filed a missing report in a local police station at Baag-i-Bahu.
It was on Friday when the protests against Kashmiris erupted in Jammu city, which led the curfew that was imposed to maintain law and order and stop further clashes and violence. Several vehicles were set ablaze.
Routinely, every year the Sheikh family shifts to Jammu during winters. The girl is identified as Sameera Akhtar, a resident of Sithran village of Budgam district.
The family has also requested the locals to help them in finding their daughter, who is missing for the last four days.
However, a concerned police officer, Mr. Sunil Kumar told, “We received a missing report from the said family and are currently investigating the matter.”
