Srinagar: A 8-year-old boy drowned in river Jhelum at Habba Kadal area of Srinagar district on Wednesday.
Locals said the boy identified as Momin Farooq S/o Farooq Ahmed of Basantbagh was bathing in the Jhelum when he drowned. They said that police and locals have started search operation to retrieve the body.
Meanwhile, an official from Kharl khud Police Station said a rescue team has been sent to the area to trace the boy.
