Four members of a family were booked in a case of abetment to suicide of their daughter-in-law here, police said on Saturday.
A police official said four members including husband of the woman have been booked for abetment to suicide.
Few days back Rehana Gulzar, (31) had died after receiving burn injuries at her in-laws’ home at Ahamsharief village.
Police said Rehana’s in-laws including her husband Muhammad Lateef Baba, her mother-in-law Hafeeza Begum and two sisters-in-law, Jawaira Begum and Kulsooma Begum have been booked under section 498-A.
A mother of three children, Rehana was working in health department. The relatives and colleagues of Rehana had accused her in-laws of “setting her ablaze.”
Police had lodged a case in the incident, and later special investigation team (SIT) was constituted in the case. “Rehana was subjected to repeated intimidation at the hands of her in-laws which forced her to take the extreme step,” police said.
