Srinagar, Nov 20: Condemning the recent death of a ‘Hybrid Militant’ in Jammu and Kashmir during an encounter, Mehbooba Mufti questioned the authorities’ accountability. The JKPDP president flagged the frequency of ‘same story’ and said that ‘alleged Militants’ are shot under ‘mysterious’ circumstances.
Taking to Twitter, Mufti said, “Another Kashmiri accused of being a hybrid Militant is killed in police custody. The same story is repeated where an alleged Militant is taken to a hideout & subsequently shot at under mysterious circumstances. No accountability whatsoever.”
Her observations surfaced following an encounter in south Kashmir on Saturday. Kashmir Police said that a ‘hybrid Militant’ was shot dead by Militants while he was accompanying a police raid.
The incident relates to a search conducted by authorities to locate Militants’ hideout in Checki Dudoo village of Bijbehara.
