Government forces on Wednesday launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A police official said that mixed columns of the army, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force laid a siege around Kilora Malikgund village following inputs about the presence of militants.
Door-to-door searches are being carried out in the area, said the official.
The operation was underway when this report was being filed.
Four policemen were shot dead by Jaish-e-Muhammad militants in Zainapora area of Shopian yesterday.
