Jammu, Sep 11: Encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists at Khandara top area of Basantgarh, situated at Udhampur-Kathua border district on Wednesday.
Jammu based defence spokesperson told that based on specific intelligence, an operation was launched in Kathua.
He added that contact has been established at Kathua Basantgarh border with the terrorists. Operation is under progress while the details are being ascertained.
Another official said that there was a brief exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces after contact was established at Khandara top.
As per the sources, two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped. No fresh firing was going on when the report was last filed. Meanwhile, more reinforcement has been rushed to the spot.(KNO)
