Tenders worth Rs 50.15 Cr floated for providing permanent Grid connectivity
Srinagar, Oct 29: As part of winter preparedness, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has dumped additional 472 KL of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) to run 25 DGs of various capacities to ensure power supply in harsh winter months to unelectrified households in 22 villages of remote Gurez area of Bandipora District.
Meanwhile, KPDCL has already floated tenders for providing Grid connectivity to the unelectrified HHs of Gurez region for which the Ministry of Power, GoI, has already sanctioned Rs 50. 15 Crore.
In a statement issued here today, a KPDCL spokesperson stated that to provide power supply on DG sets in Gurez, a requirement of 945.9 KL of HSD was projected to the Administrative Department. “Apart from 262.4 KL of HSD available, additional 472 KL HSD has been stocked by KPDCL at various locations in Gurez ahead of the peak winter to provide power supply to consumers in 22 villages,” he added.
These villages fall in Tulail and Kanzwalwan sections of Gurez region in Bandipora district.
The spokesman stated that KPDCL shall replenish more HSD supply and other allied material, if need be, to ensure power supply in these Gurez villages during the upcoming winter, as per past practice.
In order to provide permanent Grid connectivity to Gurez and do away with DG set supply, KPDCL has floated 02 tenders for construction of 6.3 MVA 33/11 KV Receiving Substation and electrification of 2,619 unelectrified households in Tulail and Kanzalwan under the premier loss reduction scheme of RDSS at a cost of Rs 50.15 Crore for which the Ministry of Power has already sanctioned the project.(GNS)
