Srinagar, Dec 25: The weather department has issued a severe cold wave alert for most parts of Kashmir over the next two days, with temperatures expected to drop significantly across the region.
In Srinagar city, the minimum temperature is likely to fall to -7°C to -8.5°C, while similar conditions are predicted for Budgam and Ganderbal districts.
South Kashmir districts are expected to face even harsher conditions, with temperatures forecasted to plunge as low as -9°C to -11°C. North Kashmir districts will also experience a severe cold wave during this period.
The weather will remain dry and cold across Jammu and Kashmir until the evening of 27 December, with no immediate signs of relief from the freezing temperatures.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe during this extreme cold spell. (QNS)
