Srinagar, Jan 11: The Cyber Police of Kashmir on Saturday said to have arrested an individual from Siwal Khas, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), for allegedly transmitting sexually explicit content of a woman on social media and blackmailing her.
The arrest was made in response to a case of online harassment, underlining the police’s firm stance on cybercrimes, particularly those targeting women.
The Kashmir Cyber Police, in a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), said their “zero tolerance” policy for crimes against women, as they urged the public to stay vigilant and report any such incidents.
“@Cyberpolicekmr has arrested an accused from Siwal Khas, Meerut (UP), for transmitting sexually explicit content of a victim on social media and blackmailing her.
