Srinagar, Jan 19: A culprit who attacked Kashmiri shawl seller in Kapurthala district of Punjab was arrested within twelve-hours, Punjab Police said on Sunday.

An officer of Punjab Police providing details said that Kapurthala Police Station received information that a Kashmiri shawl seller was attacked by some miscreants, and looted 12,000 rupees cash besides belongings of the victim.

He said soon after the information was received an immediate action was taken by Punjab Police.

“A case was filed at Police Post Sultanpur, and investigations were launched, that led to the arrest of the culprit within 12-hours,” he said.

The police have also seized motor cycle used in commissioning of the crime.

The officer said that during questioning two associates have also been identified, and reiterated that zero tolerance policy against such miscreants will continue.
