Srinagar, Jan 25: The authorities on Saturday issued a “fire advisory” following the forest fire alert from the Forest Survey of India (FSI), highlighting a high-risk forest fire situation in the region from January 23 to January 30, 2025.

The warning stresses on the critical need for caution especially in the fire-prone areas.

“The Division Forest Officer (DFO) for Urban/Social Forests, Srinagar, is tasked with ensuring that forest staff, local authorities, and emergency responders are well-prepared with necessary firefighting equipment. These teams must be ready for prompt action should an emergency arise,” reads an advisory issued by the office of the District Magistrate Srinagar.
