Peshawar: The central meeting for the sighting of the Ramadan 1446 moon is set to take place shortly at the Department of Endowment in Peshawar. The meeting is being held under the chairmanship of Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Simultaneously, zonal meetings are being conducted on the rooftop of the Provincial Dar-ul-Khalaf and at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Kohsar Block. Religious scholars, officials, and experts are gathering to assess moon sighting testimonies from across the country.
Authorities have urged the public and relevant organizations to report any credible moon sighting information through designated phone numbers. The final decision regarding the commencement of Ramadan will be announced after thorough verification of testimonies.
The meeting holds significant importance as it will determine the first day of fasting for millions of Muslims in Pakistan.(QNS)
