Srinagar, Apr 11 (QNS): The Meteorological Department has predicted generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir from April 12 to 17, offering a brief respite from recent wet conditions. 

However, a fresh spell of precipitation is likely to affect J&K from the evening of April 18 onwards.

Director MeT Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that the weather will remain mostly dry over the next six days, with no significant rain or snowfall expected till April 17.

Mukhtar said that between April 18 and 20, light to moderate rain and snow particularly over higher reaches is expected at many places across the Union Territory. 

This weather system is also likely to be accompanied by thunder and gusty winds at several locations, he said.

Authorities have issued an advisory urging travelers, tourists, and transporters to stay updated with local traffic and administrative guidelines, especially during the upcoming wet spell. 

The MeT has also warned of possible thunder and gusty winds in isolated areas during the forecast period. The department continues to monitor the evolving weather situation and has advised the public to stay alert and take necessary precautions.(QNS)
