CMO Kishtwar Cancels Leaves, Puts Health Staff on Alert Along Route

Srinagar, Apr 21: Amid the diversion of traffic from National Highway NH-44 to Mughal Road due to the closure of the Ramban route, the Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar has cancelled all leaves of health staff and placed medical institutions on high alert to ensure round-the-clock services.

As per a circular issued by the CMO, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, “In view of the closure of National Highway NHW-144 (Jammu-Srinagar) via Ramban, all vehicular traffic has been diverted through the Mughal Road. Consequently, all health institutions located along the Mughal Road corridor—starting from Sunderbani to Bhimber Gali and Dehra Ki Gali—are hereby placed on high alert and are directed to remain fully functional on a 24×7 basis until further orders.”

The order further reads that “all types of leaves including casual leave, earned leave, and station leave for Medical Officers, paramedical staff, drivers, support staff, and administrative personnel posted in these institutions are hereby cancelled with immediate effect. The only exception to this order shall be maternity leave, which will continue to be granted as per norms.”

Block Medical Officers have been directed to deploy manpower through rational rotation and ensure night duty rosters are strictly followed. Ambulances, emergency medicines, fuel, and other essential logistics are to be kept available at all times.

The circular adds that Mobile Medical Teams must be deployed along the Mughal Road by all BMOs to respond to any emergencies and assist travellers and accident victims.

The CMO further stated that any difficulty or untoward tr incident must be immediately brought to notice, and non-compliance with the directive will be taken seriously under relevant service rules.
