Budgam, May 21: In its ongoing drive to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Budgam Police have recovered contraband substances and arrested two individuals involved in drug peddling in the village Kandhama area of Magam.

Acting on specific and credible information, a special team from Police Station Magam, accompanied by an Executive Magistrate, conducted a raid at a shop owned by Firdous Ahmad Bhat, son of Ali Mohammad Bhat, resident of Gamboora, Magam. During the search, 133 grams of a Charas-like substance concealed in a polythene bag were recovered from the premises.

Consequently, an FIR No. 80/2025 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Magam, and an investigation was initiated. During the course of the investigation, two suspects were apprehended for questioning. They confessed to their involvement in the crime and were formally arrested. The accused have been identified as Shamim Ahmad Dhobi, son of Abdul Rashid, and Muzaffar Ahmad Pandith, son of Sana Ullah, both residents of Kandhama village.
