Authorities on Thursday threw open Natipora ramp of Jahangir Chowk-Rambagh flyover for transport. The stretch, measuring around 200 meters, is part of phase-I of the corridor, from Amar Singh College to Barzulla here.
The commuters travelling from Lal Chowk to Natipora, Chanapora, Chadoora, Nowgam and other areas can use the stretch now, said Syed Al Tahir Geelani, senior superintendent of police city traffic. He said traffic on flyover shall be one-way and no traffic in the opposite direction shall be allowed towards Tuslibagh via flyover.
Chief executive officer Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) Satish Razdan said second phase of the flyover was expected to be completed by mid of January 2019. The ERA is executing the project, funded by Asian Development Bank.
“By end of November 2018 the stretch from Barzulla to Amar Singh College will be completed to pave way for two way traffic,” Razdan said. “The entire flyover which is more than one and a half kilometers long will be functional by mid January 2019,” he informed.
