PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that during her coalition with the BJP, her ally wanted to crackdown on the Jamaat-e-Islami and Resistance leaders however, she didn’t allow that to happen.
The former Chief Minister also said that the National Investigation Agency wanted to carry out raids on Hurriyat leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Shah Geelani, but her government didn’t allow that to happen.
“BJP wanted to crack down on Jamaat-e-Islami and ‘suppress’ the separatist leadership through NIA raids. However, our government did not allow the rightwing party to crack down on separatists,” she said while addressing her party workers in Bandipora.
