Kulgam, May 01 (QNS): Hailstorm hit several areas of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district this afternoon causing extensive damage to apple orchards and vegetable fields.
Witnesses said that in second half of day, it started raining, and was followed by the heavy hailstorm.
The affected areas include Magzam, KB Pora, Mirwani, Gandwani, Nihama, Harwath, Jaibal, Hallan, Tangmarg and many other areas, witnesses said.
We request government to assess the loss and compensate us accordingly,” a group of affected farmers said. (QNS)
