SRINAGAR: 500 people including youth from Srinagar joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, party said.
It said BJP district president Srinagar Arif Raja along with district vice- president Ashok Bhatt and party membership incharge for Srinagar Asif Masoudi on Monday kick-started the membership drive in the district.
During the day long programme, 500 people including youth from Srinagar joined the party, Raja said.
He said prime minister Narendra Modi believes in ‘Sab Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikas and Sab Ka Vishvas’, while asking people to come and join hands for their welfare.
The motive of the membership drive is to strengthen the party base, connect with general public and bring every section of the society into the party fold, he said, adding that there will be a revolution on developmental front during BJP rule, which will benefit every section of the society.
Raja said that party has taken strong steps to put an end to corruption and punish corrupt persons. “This is being appreciated by general public and which is one of the reasons that general people wanted to join the party for their secure and safe future,” he said.
