Srinagar,October 5: Senior APHC Leader and Jammu and Kashmir People’s League (JKPL) Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza on Friday urged the international human rights organizations to play a role in stopping the ongoing ‘bloodshed’ in Kashmir.
Mukhtar Waza while addressing a gathering at Jamia Masjid Damhaal in Islamabad said,“It is high time world community intervenes and urges New Delhi to stop killing Kashmiris and resolve the Kashmir dispute as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
He said, “The UN has the responsibility to use appropriate diplomatic, humanitarian and other peaceful means, in accordance with Chapters VI and VIII of the Charter, to help protect populations from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.”
He urged UN to take serious steps to resolve the issues like Kashmir, which are continuously threatening the world peace and consuming human lives and urged upon New Delhi to protect the lives of Kashmiri political prisoners,”,adding that “The UN is a platform for the world community to come together and think over the issues pertaining to the people.
On the occasion Party members Nisar Ahmad Rather,Fayaz Ahmad,Shabir Ahmad and Aijaz Ahmad also accompanied Mukhtar Ahmad Waza.
