Dedicates contact number to report illegal activities; be our partners in preserving the natural resources: ADC Raina to people
Sopore, Dec 20: In a decisive move to address the environmental threat posed by illegal soil extraction in Sopore area of northern district of Baramulla, the administration here issued a stern warning to those involved in illegal soil extraction activities and dedicated a number to report any such activity for swift action.
The warning comes as a part of efforts to curb the unauthorized soil extraction and preserve environmental integrity.
Seeking active public cooperation in reporting the illegal activities, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, SA Raina while talking to the news agency that community involvement in maintaining the ecological balance and ensuring sustainable development in the region is important.
“Illegal soil extraction poses a threat to our environment and must be addressed seriously. Those involved will face dire consequences. Let people be our partners in preserving the resources”, Raina said. “
We have established a dedicated contact number for the public to report any instances of illegal extraction activities. Timely report will assist them in taking swift action against those compromising the environmental integrity of our region.”
People can use this number (9596004411) to promptly report any such activity. “People’s cooperation is invaluable in ensuring sustainability,” he said, adding that the identity of the callers will be kept confidential and need not to worry about their safety.
He also said that he will call the people, especially the lifters to his office and take an undertaking from them in this regard.
