A complete shutdown is being observed in various areas of Anantnag district in south Kashmir following the killing of two militants in Bejbehara on Thursday.
Reports said that soon after the news of the killing of two militants spread, all the shops and other business establishments were closed in Bejbehara and others parts of the district as a mark of protest to mourn the deaths.
Earlier, two militants Safder Amin Bhat, 25, son of Mohammad Amin, a resident of Zirpara Bijbehara, and Burhan Ahmad Ganie @ Saifullah, 25, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie, a resident of Malipora Hablish Kulgam, at present SK Colony Anantnag were killed in a gunfight with governments at Bagender area of Bejbehara.
Meanwhile, internet services were also suspended in the district for “precautionary measures”.
