Srinagar, Dec 26: The Kashmir Valley experienced freezing conditions, with temperatures plunging below zero across most areas. The coldest places were Pulwama, Anantnag, and Shopian, all recording -9.3°C. Zojila Pass saw an extreme low of -25.0°C, the coldest in the region. Other notable minimum temperatures include:
• Srinagar: -7.0°C
• Qazigund: -7.0°C
• Pahalgam: -8.6°C
• Gulmarg: -6.0°C
• Bandipora: -7.3°C
Jammu Region:
Relatively milder temperatures were recorded in Jammu, but cold weather prevailed in hilly areas. Jammu city recorded 6.6°C, while Banihal and Bhaderwah registered 0.7°C and -1.1°C, respectively. Padder was the coldest at -7.7°C. Key readings include:
• Katra: 8.0°C
• Poonch: 2.7°C
• Kathua: 5.8°C
• Udhampur: 1.5°C
Ladakh:
The frigid region of Ladakh continued to endure sub-zero temperatures. Kargil recorded -12.7°C, while Leh stood at -12.2°C. Data from Drass remains unavailable.
