SRINAGAR: BJP leader from Kashmir has reportedly registered a complaint against Deputy Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation for allegedly harassing a businessman.
The complaint has been registered by BJP Election Incharge for Kashmir and Vice President Asif Iqbal Masoodi at police station Parimpora, Sgr.
In the complaint, it has been alleged that Deputy Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation Sheikh Imran and some Councillors are harassing a businessman namely Ajaz Ahmed.
Pertinent to mention here is that Deputy Mayor had visited Umarabad HMT area and had raised questions over a raised structure owned by Ajaz Ahmed there.
“The building in question is not illegal but is being constructed with proper permission from SMC. Even the concerned Ward Officer displayed permission documents to the Deputy Mayor,” Masoodi told news agency Kashmir News Trust.
He alleged that a couple of Councillors from Pantha Chowk, Budshah Nagar who have no jurisdiction are harassing this businessman. “It is a mafia that are minting money from naive people in the garb of legal or illegal constructions,” he said.
A police official confirmed that they have received a complaint from an individual against some Corporaters.
Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran told that complaint has been filed against two Corporaters. “One is the advisor to Mayor and another is my political secretary. It doesn’t need jurisdiction for any illegal structure.
The building constructed there is completely illegal and even the Ward Officer failed to produce the permission documents,” Imran said adding even the owner of the building confessed his guilt. He further said that complaint has not been lodged against him.
