Srinagar, Aug 10: Police on Saturday said that it have cracked a blind murder case by arresting four people in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police said that On August 2, 2024, Police Post Palhallan received information about an unknown dead body found under the Khambiyar-Andergam bridge. The body was later identified as that of Nasir Ahmad Ganaie, a resident of Pousnag Kreeri.
The police team led by SDPO Pattan DSP Shahjahan assisted by SHO Pattan Insp Mohd Shafi and DO Palhalan SI Raees, carried out a sustained interrogation, examination of evidences and analysis of technical data and succeeded in identifying 4 accuseds namely, Gh Mohiuddin Ganie son of Late Gh Nabi, Fatima Begum wife of Gh Mohiuddin Ganie, Rubeena Bano daughter of Gh Mohiuddin Ganie and Aadil Ahmad Ganie son of Gh Mohiuddin all residents of Gundbal Pattan, District Baramulla.
The police spokesman further stated that the investigation revealed that the accused hatched a conspiracy to kill the deceased on August 1, 2024. They strangulated him to death using a dupatta and later disposed off the body under the bridge.
The accused have been arrested and are currently under police custody. The police team has also recovered the weapon of offense (dupatta) and other vital evidence.
