Srinagar, Feb 27: Complaints continue to pour in about the errors made by JK Board of School Education (BOSE) in setting up question papers for the students appearing in the ongoing annual exams.
This time complaints are pouring in from hard zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir as the teachers deployed for the examination duties said that the class 11th students faced out of syllabus questions in today’s Mathematics paper.
The teachers said these questions have been picked by the paper setter from the deleted portion of the syllabus.
The complaints have been reported barely two days after the class 11th students from soft zone areas complained about the out of syllabus questions in the mathematics paper of class 11th.
On February 25, the class 11th students complained that questions carrying 16 marks were “put off the syllabus as the paper setter picked the questions from the deleted portion of the syllabus.”
“In today’s Mathematics paper of 11th in hard zones, the same error has been reported by students from hard zones of Jammu,” a senior lecturer told Greater Kashmir.
He said the issue has been flagged by the examination staff as well.
“The grievances of students are genuine and such incidents put students under stress during exams. The Board officials should look into the matter,” he said.
This is not the first time that students have complained of out of syllabus questions being asked in examination but such complaints came to fore during class 10th exam as well.
Earlier, one MCQ in the Social Studies question paper had no correct option available. Also, class 10th English paper had an out of syllabus question as well.
Such incidents raise concerns over the integrity of the paper setters being hired by the JKBOSE.
As per the date sheet notified by JKBOSE, the examination of class 11th students in hard zone areas commenced from February 22 of 2025 while the class 10th examination in hard zones commenced from February 21 of 2025 and the examination of class 12 students commenced from February 20 of 2025 in hard zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, Secretary JKBOSE Sudershan Kumar told Greater Kashmir that the issue will be looked into.
“The Board will ascertain the details and remedial measures will be taken accordingly,” he earlier told GK.
