Asks Mehbooba if she will go to people’s court alone or with the grand alliance
Says Governor’s claim on dissolution of Assembly has exposed secret deal between BJP and so called grand alliance
Srinagar 27 October: Accusing Mehbooba Mufti and Omer Abdullah of having lack of sincerity and playing with the words, AIP President Er. Rasheed has said that Mehbooba Mufti’s revelation not to go to Supreme Court against Governor’s decision of dissolution of Assembly has unmasked the real intentions behind the much talked grand alliance.
In a statement issued today Er. Rasheed said “Let NC and PDP not forget that from Boycotting Panchayat and Municipal Polls to their claim of forming collation government, their every logic was revolving around protecting Article 35-A and 370. By not taking the government formation to the logical end and entering a secret deal with BJP resulting in dissolution of Assembly, the two parties have exposed their fake sincerity towards Article 35-A.
Now when Article 35-A hearing is scheduled in January, it will be not a popular government but again the Governor regime there to defend Article 35-A. By not forming the collation government both NC and PDP have missed the chance to represent the aspiration of the state before the Supreme Court and left Article 35-A to the mercy of New Delhi and its extension wings in J&K.
Mehbooba Mufti by claiming that we will go to people’s court rather Supreme Court needs more clarifications and she must tell masses if NC, PDP and Congress are contesting upcoming elections together.
Governor’s latest claim that had he followed New Delhi’s dictates, Sajad Lone would have been the Chief Minister has exposed the fact that New Delhi doesn’t mean flourishing real democracy in J&K. it is obvious that in exchange to surrendering the demand of forming grand alliance, BJP agreed to dissolve assembly, which was otherwise unconstitutiona
Er. Rasheed expressed surprise over Omer Abdullah’s asking New Delhi “What are Norwegians up to in Kashmir”. Er. Rasheed said “Every Kashmiri should welcome the track two diplomacy as it is the Kashmiris who are the worst sufferers.
Omer Abdullah by questioning the visit of Norwegian former Prime Minister to the both sides of Jammu & Kashmir has not only tried to sabotage the track two diplomacy but his statement will certainly put current BJP regime to defensive and the major political parties in India will use Omer Abdullah’s statement as evidence against BJP of involving third party mediation to resolve Kashmir dispute, thus giving BJP and excuse to run away from initiating meaningful dialogue between stake holders.
It is strange that Omer Abdullah rather welcoming the efforts of Norwegian government has tried to give an ammunition to anti Kashmiri forces and hawkish elements just to gain sympathy in certain quarters in Delhi”. Er. Rasheed added “It is unfortunate that neither NC is serious and sincere to fight even for restoration of Autonomy nor is ready to encourage the efforts being carried out by Norwegians and others to get Kashmir issue resolved”.
