The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that the minor boy who was murdered in Ganderbal was a case of “revenge killing”.
Police said that the father of the boy had rejected killer’s proposal to marry his daughter.
On September 17, the minor boy Faisal Misgar of Busarbugh Alestang had gone missing from his home, while his dead body was found a day later in an orchard.
Addressing a press conference, the SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal said that the accused has been arrested.
“Abrar Majid Reshi 21, neighbor of the Misgar’s has been arrested in this case and he has confessed to the crime,” the SSP said.
According to Poswal, Reshi had proposed to the Misgar’s that he intended to marry their daughter but the proposal was rejected by the father. Faisal’s sister was married three days prior to his death.
“To revenge Abrar killed Faisal,” Poswal said.
The SSP revealed that the call details of Abrar have helped to crack the case.
