Srinagar: Ahead of the last leg of three-phase parliamentary polls for the Anantnag parliamentary constituency, the government forces have arrested six youth during pre-dawn raids in southern Kashmir’s Shopian village on Thursday.

Sources said that the government forces raided the twin villages of Narwah and Vehil and detained six youth.

The arrested youths have been identified as Rafee Ahmad Lone, son of Muhammad Amin; Tawseef Yaqoob Gani, son of Muhammad Yaqoob; Yasir Yaqoob Ganie, son of Muhammad Yaqoob, all residents of Narwah village; and Muhammad Ashraf Bhat, son of Abdul Gani Bhat; a brother duo Sameer Ahmad Bhat and Muhammad Abbas Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat, all resident of Vehil village.

All the six youths have been detained in Police Station Shopian, sources said.
