Safety remains our top priority, all necessary checks completed to ensure smooth ops: Official
Gulmarg, Jan 26: The Gondola operations were restored after a brief disruption due to technical snag in its first phase on Sunday. The halt left several tourists stranded in the cabins mid-air.
Official told that the team has resolved the issue efficiently and service has been restored. “All the necessary safety check have been conducted to ensure smooth operations,” he added.
Pertinently, the issue occurred when the rope slipped from the pulley, halting the cable car system. The rope, as per the officials was placed back on the pulley immediately.
Notably, Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world and a major tourist attraction in the region, connects the base station to Kongdori in its first phase and continues to the Afarwat peak in its second phase.(KNO)
