He Says 114 militants killed in encounters, while two civilians killed in cross firing this year
Srinagar, Nov 24: The inspector general of police Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar on Wednesday said that only three civilians have been killed in cross firing during encounters in the last two years.
IGP Kumar told news agency that this is the lowest collateral damage in the last three decades.
He also said that so far 144 militants have been killed, while two civilians have been killed in cross firing during encounters in the Valley this year.
“Last year 207 militants and a civilian were killed during encounters in Kashmir, so far only 3 civilians have been killed in cross firing during encounters in the last two years, which is the lowest collateral damage in the last three decades,” he said.
Notably, four persons including two civilians were killed in an encounter in Hyderpora on last Monday evening. (KNS)
