Srinagar, Feb 27(QNS): Jammu and Kashmir is set to witness intensified weather conditions over the next 24 hours, with moderate to heavy rain and snowfall expected across most parts of the region. According to weatherman, the system is likely to strengthen further by late afternoon or evening, bringing significant precipitation.
Heavy rainfall is predicted in the plains of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in South Kashmir, while higher reaches are expected to receive heavy snowfall. A sharp drop in temperature could lead to a shift from rain to snowfall in the plains of Kashmir, though rainfall is expected to remain the dominant form of precipitation over the next 24 hours.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, especially in areas prone to landslides and waterlogging.
The weather is expected to improve from tomorrow afternoon onwards, bringing much-needed relief from the ongoing wet spell.(QNS)
