Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday termed the mass shootings at two New Zealand mosques as a terror attack and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
“Good to see most people are calling the #NewZealandMosqueFiring what it is – a terror attack. #NewZealandTerroristAttack. No words of condemnation are strong enough & no words of sympathy for the families adequate enough. May Allah grant them Jannat,” Omar wrote on twitter.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said that at least 40 people were killed when two gunmen opened fire at two mosques in Christchurch city.
The Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the shootings marked “one of New Zealand’s darkest days”.
Police said two mosques were targeted in the attack.
