Jammu, Feb 28(QNS): The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NHW) remains closed at multiple locations, including Hingni, Gangroo, Kishtwari Pather, Mom Passi, and Mehar, due to shooting stones, while mudslides have blocked the road at Cafeteria and Dalwas.
Restoration work is underway, but authorities have advised commuters to avoid traveling until the highway is fully restored. A decision on reopening the road will be taken tomorrow after assessing conditions and receiving clearance from maintenance agencies.
Meanwhile, the Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244 also remains closed for vehicular movement, following an advisory issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Kokernag.
Similarly, the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari (SSG) Road, Mughal Road, and Bhaderwah-Chamba Road continue to remain shut due to heavy snow accumulation. The District Magistrate of Poonch has ordered the closure of Mughal Road in light of the snow situation.
