Weekend, night curfew to remain in force in all districts of UT; Schools, colleges, universities to remain closed till June 15; Public transport to ply with 50 per cent capacity
Srinagar, May 30: The Jammu and Kashmir government has begun the Covid-19 unlocking process as it allowed certain activities including opening of barber shops, saloons, liquor shops, standalone shops on three days in a week except Saturdays and Sundays while weekend and night curfew in all 20 districts of the UT will continue to remain in force.
An order, issued in this regard by the outgoing chief secretary, BVR Subrahmanyam stated that weekend curfew from 8 pm on each Friday till 7 am on each Monday and daily night curfew from 8 pm to 7 am next day will continue to remain in force.
As per the order, All schools, colleges, universities and skill development and training institutes will remain closed till June 15.
The order stated that all barber shops, saloons, parlours and liquor shops have been allowed to open on three day a week except for Saturdays and Sundays.
As per the order standalone shops of all types have also been allowed to open on all day except Saturdays and Sundays on alternate basis or rotation basis while restaurants have been allowed to open on all days (except Saturdays and Sundays) for home-delivery and room service of residents.
The order stated that public transport has been allowed to ply on roads with 50 percent seating capacity while auto rickshaws and three-wheelers have been allowed to ply without any restrictions.
It stated that the ceiling on the number of people permitted to attend gatherings and function shall be 20 in case of funerals and 25 in case of all kinds of other social and religious gatherings whether at indoors or outdoors venues.
The order stated that religious places and places of worships shall continue to remain open while all cinema halls, gyms, spas, massage centres, clubs, multiplexes and paid parks shall continue to remain closed.
It stated that wholesalers, fruit and sabzi mandis may also remain open as necessary in a regulated manner to ensure provision of essential supplies.(KNO)
