Gandhinagar police on Thursday claimed to have apprehended a man with pistol during checking in Ashok Nagar area of Jammu.
“A police party of Police station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Sunil Jasrotia, was on patrolling/checking duty today in the jurisdiction.
When the police party reached Ashok Nagar, they came across a pedestrian who tried to evade the police party in a suspicious manner,” police spokesman said in a statement issued to KNO.
He said the police party apprehended a person who was then identified as Tajinder Singh @ Happy, son of Mohinder Singh of Ward No : 04, Simbal Camp.
“On checking, one country made pistol along with one live cartridge was recovered from his possession,” police said.
Police said that in relation to this, FIR No.101/2019 under section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered in PS Gandhinagar and investigation was initiated
