Concerned department writes to police, seek action under law
Shopian, Nov 17: The Horticulture Planning and Marketing department has sought action against some persons at mega fruit mandi Shopian over allegations of collections of charges from truckers.
In a communique, a copy of which lies with the news agency, Area Marketing Officer Horticulture Planning and Marketing Shopian has urged the concerned station house officer to take action under law against these persons who are allegedly collecting charges from trucker at mega fruit mandi.
The communique reads that numerous complaints are pouring regarding illegal collection of charges from truckers by some people at mega F&V mandi Aglar Shopian, which is an unlawful and unjustified act under the provisions governing mandies across the Union Territory.
“This unlawful and irresponsible act attracts punitive action against the culprits for committing the malpractice.”
It added that in view of the same it is requested to investigate the matter and action as warranted under law may be taken against the persons involved.(KNO)
