Srinagar, July 29: The Meteorological department in its fresh advisory sounded alert, asking general public to remain cautious as parts of Jammu and Kashmir are likely to receive rain, thundershower with gusty winds in coming 3-4 hours.
The advisory stated the possibility of landslides and mudslides at few vulnerable places of Jammu and Kashmir, and urged people to suspend Shikara and boat riding in all water bodies during intense showers and gusty winds.
“Nowcast update J&K@ 1630 hrs: Generally cloudy with a spell of Rain/Thundershower at many places of North & South Kashmir, few parts of Central Kashmir, Poonch & Rajouri, Banihal, Ramban & Reasi, during next 3-4 hrs,” MeT advisory reads.
“Few parts of Kupwara, Handwara, Tanghdar, Ganderbal- Sonamarg axis, Kukernag, Qazigund & adjoining areas, Qazigund-Banihal -Ramban axis, parts of Poonch & Rajouri , Katra & Patnitop may receive moderate to intense Rain showers with gusty winds (30-40 KMPH) during next 1-2 hrs,” it reads.
“Possibility of landslides/mudslides at few vulnerable places. Suspend Shikara riding/boating in all water bodies during intense showers/gusty winds,” the advisory mentions.
