In a first, PAGD to convene meeting in Jammu on Dec 21
Srinagar, Dec 17: In a first, the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration is going to hold a meeting of its constituents in Jammu division on December 21 to discuss several issues including their reach out to New Delhi and opposition parties regarding abrogation of article 370, sources said here on Friday.
Sources told that the PAGD meeting will be presided over bye its presidents and NC Parliamentarian Dr Farooq Abdullah.
They said that the meeting has been convened to discuss several issues including their reach out to the Central government, civil society members and opposition parties in New Delhi regarding abrogation of Article 370.
They said that the meeting will also discuss further course of action regarding a writ petition filed by its spokesperson M Y Tarigami in the Supreme Court regarding article 370.
Sources said that they will also discuss about the ongoing delimitation process in Jammu and Kashmir and future strategy regarding the same.
Pertinently, this is for the first time that PAGD is going to hold its meeting in Jammu after it came into being.
Meanwhile, senior leader and NC Parliamentarian, Hasnain Masoodi confirmed to KNS that they have convened a meeting in Jammu on December 20 to discuss several issues including their reach out to New Delhi, civil society members and opposition parties regarding abrogation of article 370.
He also said that the situation prevailing on Jammu and Kashmir will also be discussed in the meeting.
Meanwhile, sources also said that the National Conference members of parliament, who are also the members of delimitation commission of Jammu and Kashmir are likely to participate in the commission meeting on December 20.
Notably, on Wednesday senior vice-president of ANC and constituent member of PAGD, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah had told KNS that they were stationed in New Delhi to reach out to different quarters and press for the revocation of Article 370. (KNS)
