Sends written response to NIA’s summon through counsel
Srinagar, March 11: Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday said that Government of India has embarked upon ‘mission against the genuine demands of people of Jammu and Kashmir’.
“We have replied to the NIA stating our position that the freedom movement has been ongoing since 1931 and people of the state are fighting for the cause recognised by the international organisations including United Nations,” Mirwaiz said.
According to KNO correspondent Mirwaiz said there is an organised attempt to push people of Jammu and Kashmir to the wall.
“Unabated killings, CASO’s, arrest spree, banning organisations, there media are all working together to somehow defame the struggle of people of the state.
They fail to understatnd that its a peoples movement and is nurtured by the blood of youth,” he told a gathering.
Mirwaiz said that their are efforts to defame the pulpit of Jamia Masjid and after failing to break ‘will of the jamia masjid’ through curfew’s ‘they want to club us with the word terrorism’.
“We have told the NIA that we have nothing to do with terrorism but the aspiration of the people of jammu and kashmir are genuine and people are fighting for their rights,” he said.
