Keeping in view the overall weather and road conditions, the traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway continues to move from one side. The traffic on Saturday was thrown open from Jammu to Srinagar.
The spokesman said that no movement of any Light Motor Vehicles shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar after 1200 hours and from Jakheni Udhampur after 1400 hours to avoid congestion. The commuters are requested to avoid travelling during night hours.
Heavy Motor vehicles shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar from1400 hours up to 2400 hours. These vehicles shall not be allowed to halt between Nashree Tunnel to Jawahar Tunnel.
On the historical Mughal road, the traffic movement shall be allowed from Shopian towards Buffliaz. Movement of these vehicles from Herpora (Shopian) shall be allowed from 0900 hours to 1600 hours only and shall be allowed in close coordination with concerned District Police
Meanwhile, on Srinagar-Sonamarg road stranded vehicles from Srinagar side shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil today. People are requested to undertake a journey only after confirming the status of the road.
