Pattan, March 07: A man posing as army man looted a shopkeeper of Rs 1.35 lakh in Khasipora Khore village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Talking to News Agency, shopkeeper Mohammad Rafiq Ahanger claimed a man posing as army man ordered some hardware items worth Rs 42,500 over phone and he prepared the same.
“Then I arranged a vehicle to take those items to local army camp, where the person asked me to come. The man then asked my account details so he could pay the bill. Accordingly, I disclosed the details to him, however, after accepting the payment request on PhonePe he withdrew all the money amount to Rs 1.35 lakh from my account,” he claimed.
He further said that when he reached the army camp with the hardware material, he came to know that they never called him for this.
“Then I realised I have been cheated by some fraudster who looter all the money from my bank account,” he said.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been set into motion. (KNS)
