Srinagar, Apr 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to shorten his visit to Saudi Arabia following the terrorist attack in the Pahalgam area of south Kashmir on Tuesday, sources said. 

Sources told that PM Modi also skipped the official dinner hosted by Saudi Arabia and decided to cut short his visit.

While he was originally scheduled to return tomorrow night, he will now arrive in India early Wednesday morning, they said. 

They said that PM Modi is likely to chair to a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) as soon as he is back from Saudi Arabia tomorrow. 

The meeting will focus on reviewing the security situation following the terror attack in the Pahalgam area. 

Earlier, PM had spoke with Union Home Minister Amit Shah over, asking him to take suitable measures and also visit the terror attack site in Kashmir. 

At least 27 persons, most of them tourists, were killed in a major terror attack in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam on Tuesday after. Soon after the attack Home Minister Amit Shah landed in Kashmir to chair an emergency meeting with all security agencies in Srinagar. 

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also brief the Home Minister about the security situation and measures being taken following the terror attack


Amit Shah is likely to visit Pahalgam terror attack site tomorrow, while a massive combing operation is underway in the area to locate ans neutralise the terrorists involved in the attack. 

Following the attack, security has been heightened across Jammu and Kashmir while red alert has been issued in Delhi and other major cities.(KNO)
