Srinagar, May 1: The Indian Army on Thursday said that Pakistan troops resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) during the intervening night of April 30 and May 1 in multiple sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.

Army officials told news agency JKNS that Pakistan Army posts initiated small-arms fire opposite Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor sectors.

“The fire was unprovoked and was responded to in a proportionate manner by Indian Army troops,” the official said.
