She added, Doctors to Be Transferred Every Four Years to Ensure Accountability and Transparency:
Srinagar, July 27: Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Sunday said that patient care will not be compromised under any circumstances, asserting that it remains the government’s top priority.
“Patient care is our top priority. No compromise will be tolerated in ensuring that patients receive timely and quality medical attention,” Itoo told reporters.
The minister stated the need for accountability in the healthcare system and announced that doctors would be transferred every four years to maintain transparency and efficiency.
“We are committed to making doctors accountable. Regular transfers every four years will now be enforced to prevent stagnation and improve service delivery,” she said.
Her statement comes in the wake of recent protests by healthcare professionals following an incident involving an assault on a doctor. While condemning the assault, the minister said shutting down hospitals is not a solution.
“We understand the concerns of doctors, but patient services cannot suffer. Strict action will be taken against those who disrupt hospital functioning,” she added.
The minister assured that the government is working on measures to ensure both the safety of medical staff and uninterrupted patient care across the Union Territory.(KINS)
