Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday took out a peace march in Srinagar, urging the central government to ensure safety of Kashmiris residing outside Jammu and Kashmir.
Led by the party vice president Rehman Veeri, the protesters urged the state governments to take all requisite measures to protect people hailing from Kashmir valley.
Pitching for communal harmony and tolerance in Jammu region, they said that some elements were out to defame the brotherhood.
The leaders took out the march from the PDP office near Sher-e-Kashmir Park and headed towards Lal Chowk. However, a contingent of the police stopped them at Polo View. (With KNS inputs)
