Srinagar, Jan 04: In anticipation of the snowfall predicted by the Meteorological Department from January 4 to January 6, the Power Department has announced robust measures to safeguard uninterrupted electricity supply and promptly address any potential power disruptions.

To mitigate the impact of the forecasted weather, all subordinate offices have been instructed to deploy an adequate number of field staff in areas most vulnerable to snowfall, particularly regions heavily impacted during the previous snowstorm.

The department has emphasized strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during restoration activities to ensure the safety of personnel and the efficiency of operations. Teams have been directed to mobilize necessary equipment and machinery in advance, prioritizing readiness across critical zones.

Furthermore, seamless coordination with the Nodal Officer will be maintained to enable effective monitoring and real-time updates. Subordinate offices are required to submit feeder status reports every two hours, ensuring transparency and timely intervention.

The department remains committed to minimizing power disruptions and restoring services swiftly. Citizens are advised to cooperate with the field teams and report any issues promptly to the helpline numbers.(QNS)
