MS Soura says committee constituted to enquire the matter
Srinagar, Mar 05: A pregnant woman on Sunday died at SKIMS Soura even as her family alleged of medical negligence on part of the hospital authorities.
The woman identified as Khanday Ulfat Jan (25) wife of Jan Mohammad of Ganderbal, who was admitted to maternity section of SKIMS on Saturday evening died on today afternoon.
Her cousin Sajad Ahmad told the news agency that they brought her to SKIMS last evening, however, there was no improvement in her condition.
Later doctors claimed that due to abortion and some other issues, she had tumour which has ruptured inside her body,” he said.
He questioned that if she had some critical issue, then why wasn’t she instantly treated as only junior resident doctor was treating her and she died of medical negligence.
Meanwhile, her family members demanded the matter be investigated and strict action must be taken against those involved.
When contacted Medical Superintendent SKIMS Soura, Dr Farooq Jan told that a committee has been constituted to enquire about the matter.
He said committee has been directed to submit the report within five days and if anyone is found involved action as per law will be taken.(KNO)
