Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan Wednesday said that the restrictions on Kashmir highway were put in place to avoid ‘any ugly situation.’
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Khan who was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, SP Pani said that there was no ban on the civilian movement along the Kashmir highway but some regulations were put in place in view of huge traffic burden due to ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
He added that the burden will decrease with each passing day.
“There were some concerns including the situation of the highway due to which some regulations were put in place,” Khan said.
